Under James Vowles’ leadership, Williams is aiming to break into the Formula 1 midfield after several seasons at the rear of the grid. The British team launched the livery of the FW46 in early February but it wasn’t until a promotional filming day shortly before testing that the real car design was unleashed.
Williams has stuck with the same suspension layout as last year, with pushrod on the front and pull-rod on the rear. This follows the example set by Mercedes, which supplies the FW46’s power unit and gearbox.
